Business Analyst
Description:
The Business Analyst is primarily responsible for serving as a technical advisor to the departments mainly for enterprise system, Pronto. This includes programming, system maintenance, troubleshooting, training and creating user reports and analysis. This role is also responsible for researching, analyzing and interpreting business processes of each department to ensure compliance with federal, state and relevant gaming regulations and standard operating policies and procedures. This person operates as a spokesperson for departments as they interact with the IT to determine appropriate computer-related solutions to business problems. -Provides technical support to various computer systems such as Pronto, customer relationship management software, and other companywide systems. -Meets with potential users to assess needs, investigates hardware and software solutions, develops flow charts, configures new systems, monitors the use of the system and trains end-users as required. -Serves as a database administrator and report(s) writer. Must understand the database structures and how they interface with business requirements. Train's users on business software programs. -Evaluates existing business processes for improvement using existing data and systems capabilities. Develops recommendations to processes and systems based on findings. -Develops and delivers presentations on analysis and recommendations to all levels within the organization. -Documents existing and proposed processes, procedures and operating requirements (systems functionalities, resource requirements, etc). -Works within and may lead cross-functional teams within company. -Performs research on special projects and prepares reports and recommendations. -Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures. Utilize systems implementation or conversion experience to identify issues or to make recommendations to correct the processes in the business systems applications throughout the organization or for specific departments. -Develops, coordinates, and implements plans to test business and functional processes during system development and verifying documents, records, reports and day-to-day processes. Consults with business unit management and personnel to obtain additional information during system development and evaluate alternatives. Tracks and documents changes to functional and business specifications. -Creates or assists others in the writing of user documentation, instructions, presentations, reports, and standard procedures. Monitors and documents problems, reviews revision requests, prepares time and cost estimates, and reports findings and discrepancies. -Reports any discrepancies, changes or recommendations, and/or problems for resolution to senior management. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, MIS, or related fields from a four-year college or university required. Experience: Six to eight years of related experience as a Business Analyst or System Administrator. At least three to five years prior experience in process management, process re-engineering, data analysis, interpretation and reporting is essential (operational and financial). Proven ability to perform and document situational analysis including current state, recommendations and future state. OTHER COMPETENCIES & SKILLS Computer proficiency in various software business applications and Accounting Systems, and/or management consultant experience required. Project Management Certification desirable. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
